Overview
Barrettine Cut End Preserver for Timber & Cladding in Green offers long lasting protection from rot, fungi and blue stain. It has been specially formulated to treat the exposed end grains that are especially vulnerable to wet rot, fungus, discolouration and wood boring insects. It penetrates deeply into the cut ends, giving it a water repellant finish. The oils and resins contained within it give longevity to the protection. This product is also available in .

Suitable for wood that is resting on the ground / hardstanding and only submitted to intermittent rain e.g garden furniture.

Application
Always follow the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin and use only as described on the label.
- Shake Well. Apply with a synthetic brush designed for solvent-borne products.
- Spread evenly and ensure that the end grain is thoroughly treated along with cut and drilled areas.
- It is recommended that a minimum of 2 coats are applied depending on wood species and surface characteristics.
- Allow 6–12 hours drying time (touch dry) between coats.
- Applying successive coats will provide a darker finish and on smooth wood a higher sheen finish.
- If using the Clear Preserver in conjunction with a stain or wood dye it is advised to apply the colourant before the Preserver, test effect on an off-cut initially.
- Clean equipment and spills with White Spirit immediately after use
Apply liberally to the end grain and allow it to be thoroughly absorbed. The ends of the timber can also be stood in Cut End Preserver for an hour to allow it to deeply penetrate.
